There have been thousands who have chosen to write their thesis and fundamental stuff which they felt is worth passing to generations. The scientists, mathematicians, laureates, doctors, architects, psychologists, etc of the past used this language by choice. Sanskrit has a lot of manuscripts of art, dance, literature, economics, physics, medicine, architecture, etc.
After hearing about Mayamatam, Arthashastram, Sushrut Samhita, Yog Sutras, Lilavati, we shall should accept that it can open a treasure of knowledge for our generations to come. Infact to preserve the ability to decode this treasure of knowledge, Sanskrit will remain as a KEY.
